The Sambataro Gallery:
 Photorealism

  Photorealism

Artists have always tried to see how real-looking they could paint a subject. With the advent of technology, better cameras, better paints, and better techniques, artists today can do some amazing things. So it's no wonder I wanted to try my hand at it too. Though I am not always a patient person, you can't render these images without it, so for me, it IS as hard as it looks to paint.

Corvette
My friend Paul wanted a painting of his Corvette. The only problem was, he already had tons of photos of it covering his walls. So how do I paint his car without 'painting his car?' My solution was to paint the most distinctive feature of it: the re-designed headlights. To make it stand out, I painted Corvette in a photo-real style and hung it in the center of the room. Some commissions are a 'real' challenge.
